Crayon Shin-chan Sequel Planned

The Daily Sports newspaper reports that late Crayon Shin-chan manga creator Yoshito Usui’s assistants will be tapped, with the consent of Usui’s surviving family, to create a new Crayon Shin-chan manga series. The last manga installment drawn by Usui will be published in Monthly Manga Town magazine’s March 2010 issue. The sequel manga will tentatively launch next summer.

The 18th Crayon Shin-chan motion picture, subtitled “Cho Jiku! Arashi o Yobu Ora no Hanayome” (Super Dimension! The Storm Called My Bride) will hit Japanese theaters on April 17. The film will introduce Tamiko, Shinnosuke Nohara’s bride from the future who travels back in time to the present.
