Cyborg 009 American Remake Announced

Archaia Publishing has announced its development of an American graphic novel reimagining of Shotaro Ishinomori’s 1964 sci-fi action manga Cyborg 009. F.J. DeSanto, co-producer of the 2008 motion picture The Spirit, and Bradley Cramp, executive producer of the 2005 motion picture Lord of War, will co-author the comic while Marcus To (Red Robin, The Huntress) will illustrate. Archaia tentatively plans to publish the hardcover graphic novel next summer.

Archaia Publishing also reports that F.J. DeSanto will tentatively produce an American live-action Cyborg 009 movie. Japan’s Nikkei newspaper reported in 2009 that Ishimori Productions was considering the development of a Hollywood produced Cyborg 009 movie.
