Details on Shoujo Beat Revealed

Viz has revealed specific details about its recently announced Shojo Beat manga magazine. Beginning in July 2005 the monthly magazine will retail at $5.99 per issue, and VIZ will offer a special six-month introductory annual subscription special of $29.95 coinciding with the debut. Beginning in May, a special preview issue will be available at specialty retailers and summer anime and comic conventions.

The magazine will initially carry six different continuing stories:

NANA (NANA) by Ai Yazawa
Absolute Boyfriend (Zettai Kareshi) by Yuu Watase
Crimson Hero (Koshoku Hero) by Mitsuba Takanashi
Kaze Hikaru (Kaze Hikaru) by Taeko Watanabe
Godchild (God Child) by Kaori Yuki
Baby and Me (Akachan To Boku) by Marimo Ragawa

VIZ will also simultaneously debut a Shojo Beat graphic novel line, which will offer an ongoing library of new shojo titles at $8.99 each.
