Diamond Select Acquires Rights to Gatchaman

Diamond Comics has licensed the rights to produce Gatchaman merchandise from American copyright holder Sandy Frank Productions, the studio behind Battle of the Plants. Gatchaman, known in America as Battle of the Planets, Eagle Riders, and G-Force, has been an anime classic in Japan since its debut in 1972, and an American staple since 1978.

Diamond Select now has the rights to develop action figures, resin statues, calendars, wall scrolls, building block figures under 3 inches, and the right to import Japanese toys based on the property. Diamond Select will begin production on action figures under 3 inches, to be released next summer.
