Discotek Reveals Mad Bull 34 Acquisition
|Discotek has formally announced its license-rescue of the 1990 Mad Bull 34 OVA series. The four-episode police action series will be released on bilingual DVD next year. Manga Entertainment released the series on domestic English dubbed VHS in 1996. The absurdly excessive and gratuitous adaptation of Kazuo Koike and Noriyoshi Inoue’s 1986 manga is described by Discotek as, “Quite possibly the best bad anime ever made.”

Not the “never made it to DVD” rescue that’s at the top of many fans’ lists I’d wager, but I might get it “just because”… or in gratitude for them casting their nets this far back for a rescue. I hope they don’t follow up with “Angel Cop”, though…
So pumped! Still rockin’ my VHS copies. Discotek is the raddest! Can’t wait to actually listen to the Japanese audio track (not saying anything bad about the Manga dub).
