Funimation has confirmed that Dragonball has topped the lists of most common search topics for both Lycos and Yahoo. On the Lycos search engine, after spending 71 weeks in the top 8 topics, Dragonball moved into the #1 spot for most commonly searched for subjects for the week ending January 7th. Dragonball placed 34% higher than second place entry Britney Spears and 72% higher than third place entry, Napster. On the Yahoo TV Buzz index, Dragonball also came in first position, as the most sought after television related subject, with more than triple the interest of second place entry Pamela Anderson.

If anything, this success suggests that Dragonball is poised to become the next Pokemon-type break-through, mainstream success, reaching not only anime fans, but mainstream American pop culture.
