First Look at AKB0048 Anime

It’s reportedly AKB48 theater manager Togasaki Tomonobu that has officially released a 33-second sample of rough footage from studio Satelight’s in-production AKB0048 anime television series. The sci-fi adventure series is set in the distant future when a group of female vocalists adopt a name that pays tribute to a legendary pop-group of the past and perform guerrilla concerts to oppose the Super Galactic Alliance’s ban on entertainment. Although members of the AKB48 pop group have done anime voice acting in the past, none of them star in the AKB0048 anime which will premiere on April 29.
