Full Live-Action RuroKen Movie Trailer
|Yahoo Japan Movies has begun streaming the full theatrical trailer for director Keishi Otomo’s adaptation of Rurouni Kenshin. The adaptation of Nobuhiro Watsuki’s popular samurai action manga is Otomo’s first screenplay and first feature film. The movie will hit Japanese theaters on August 25.
The budget looks solid, and the visual design is commendable, but the shot composition and cinematography seem really bad. Part of this trailer suggests that the film wants to be a serious jidaigeki, but part of the trailer is shot like a terrible straight-to-video comic book movie. This movie looked a lot more interesting when earlier trailers showed less of it.

I’m fine with it, considering it still looks better than Princess Blade.
