NERIMA DAIKON BROS. has been sitting on my shelf for a while, but I’ve yet to open it up. It looks like fun, but I’ve always found a reason to watch something else instead… perhaps this will motivate me.
FUNi’s work on KODOCHA had me scratching my head from the very beginning. It’s a fun series that can really grow on you, but it’s pretty long and utilizes a niche comedy most foreign to U.S. otaku. The release schedule was complicated, too, and got caught up in that “are we switching to DVD sets yet?” period.
Aaron: If you want to see Nerima, get the singles, since they have liner notes and commentaries. As for Kodocha, FUNi could have at least streamed the damned show, if it failed.
That’s a shame about Nerima Daikon Brothers, it’s a really fun show. Reminds me a lot of the musical/comedy aspects of Animaniacs. I bought the boxed set from Rightstuf about 2 years ago for about $12 and i still pop it in once in a while to hear some of the songs. Just a fun series.
Evil: Again, get the singles. They have the extras.
