FUNi to Distro Shaw Bros. Flicks

FUNimation has announced plans to distribute DVD releases of 15 vintage kung fu films from the massive Shaw Bros. studio archive. The influential and massively successful Shaw Bros. production studio has financed the production of over a thousand feature films – most of them martial arts movies, since its foundation in 1924. At least some of Celestial Pictures remasters to be distributed by FUNimation were previously planned for release by FUNimation’s now defunct sister company BCI. 14 Amazons and Shaolin Hand Lock will retail at $19.99 each beginning March 16. Sword of Swords, The Duel, The Lady Hermit, Invincible Shaolin, Soul of the Sword, Life Gamble, Shaolin Rescuers, Shaolin Prince, Bastard Swordsman, Return of Bastard Swordsman, Opium and The Kung Fu Master, The Supreme Swordsman, and Hong Kong Godfather will follow.
