FUNimation Acquires Slayers TV

At this past weekend’s Anime Central convention, FUNimation announced its acquisition of distribution rights to the three Slayers television series formerly distributed in America by Software Sculptors and Central Park Media. FUNimation stated that the series were re-licensed for posterity, to ensure that a classic title remains available to new fans after Central Park Media’s distribution license expired.

FUNimation will remaster Slayers, Slayers Next, and Slayers Try to restore minor footage edits from the CPM release, and re-record small segments of the English dubbed dialogue. The series will be re-released next year at around $50 per series, the current price for the Central Park Media sets.
