FUNimation Drops One Piece Lawsuit
|FUNimation has officially dropped its copyright infringement lawsuit against an unidentified individual that downloaded One Piece episode 481 via Bit Torrent without authorization. On January 24, 2011, FUNimation filed suit against 1,337 unidentified individuals accused of downloading One Piece episode 481 without authorization. On February 10, 2011, Senior US District Judge Royal Furgeson declared that FUNimation could not collectively sue all 1,337 individuals. FUNimation immediately dropped 1,336 defendants from the lawsuit. On March 18, 2011, FUNimation dropped its suit against the lone remaining individual but emphasized its legal right to re-file the suit against any of the original defendants.
