FUNimation Reveals New Licenses

FUNimation has inadvertently revealed its acquisition of North American distribution rights to the Solty Rei and Tsubasa Chronicle anime series. The acquisitions came to light recently after FUNimation contacted a fan translation group requesting the group to cease publicly sharing episodes of programs distributed by FUNimation.

Anime News Network and the fan translation group in question have reported only that FUNimation confirmed its distribution rights to the Solty Rei and Tsubasa Chronicle anime series. International fan site Anime Suki has reported that FUNimation’s list of properties also included the current anime series Black Cat (produced by Solty Rei animation studio Gonzo).
