Pokemon Gold and Silver for the Gameboy have destroyed America’s previous record-holder for most games sold in the first week of availability. Pokemon Yellow sold 600,000 copies in its first week. The combination of Pokemon Gold and Silver have sold 1.4 million copies in a mere seven days. Nintendo has raked in nearly 41 million dollars from sales of these two titles already, and anticipates sales of 10 million units in less than six months’ time.

Square Electronic Arts has announced November 14 as the official launch date for the domestic version of Final Fantasy IX.
