Gedo Senki Remains Strong at Japanese Box Office

Despite widespread reviews calling the film merely mediocre, Studio Ghibli’s Gedo Senki remained the highest grossing current movie in Japan during its second week of release. Last week the Masked Rider Kabuto/Go Go Sentai Boukenger double feature opened in fourth place, and Naruto movie 3 opened in sixth place. In its fourth week of release, Pokemon movie 9 was the fifth highest grossing Japanese theatrical release, and in its fifth week of release, Gonzo’s Brave Story came in tenth place.
