GitS S.A.C. Movie 3D Re-release Announced
Production IG has announced that the Kokaku Kidotai S.A.C. Solid State Society 3D motion picture will hit Japanese theaters on March 26. The movie is a stereoscopic 3D conversion of the 2006 movie which is itself a condensed version of the 2004 second Ghost in the Shell television series. Original series director Kenji Kamiyama is overseeing the 3D conversion. The 3D reissue will also feature an entirely new opening sequence animated by Production I.G.

Solid State Society was not a condensed version of S.A.C. second series. It was an independent movie.
The condensed version of the second season (which the dubbed sucked for due to licensing BS) is called Ghost in the Shell S.A.C. 2nd GIG: Individual Eleven.
