Insufficient Direction Biographical Anime Announced

Flash anime studio DLE Inc. has announced its development of an 13-episode TV series adaptation of Moyoco Anno’s biographical essay manga Kantoku Fuyuki Todoki (Insufficient Direction) about her daily married life with anime director and Evangelion creator Hideaki Anno. “Kantoku-kun” (“Director-kun” or Hideaki Anno) will be played by Kouichi Yamadera. Although Hideaki Anno recently played the voice of Jiro Horikishi in director Hayao Miyazaki’s film Kaze Tachinu, Anno personally selected Yamadera to play his alter-ego in this TV series. Yamadera’s Evangelion co-star Megumi Hayashibara will play the voice of “Rompers,” the show’s Moyoco Anno-character. Haiyoru! Nyaru-Ani & Thermae Romae director Azuma Tani will direct the series of three-minute episodes that will air as a segment of the ongoing Animusu! late-night variety program beginning this April.
