Is Pokemon Dead or Not

The Washington Post has an article in yesterday’s paper discussing the question of whether the Pokemon fad is over. The main argument of the article is that the second Pokemon opened to a third place box office showing and that sales are slower than they were last year at the same time. On the other hand, according to Raving Toy Maniac a July 20th article from the Associated Press stated that Hasbro reported Pokemon as one of the company’s product lines that saw falling second quarter earnings, but while it is true that the Star Wars and Furby lines both also saw a decrease in sales over the second quarter, the AP now reports that Pokemon products actually saw an increase in sales over the same period a year ago.
