Jackie Chan News

Cinescape is reporting that Jackie Chan has admitted that he won’t be doing his trademark crazy action stunts for too much longer. While talking to USA Today, Chan, who is 46 years old, revealed his estimate on when he might be forced to keep his feet on the ground, saying, “Probably another five years. I know how far I can go, and I know how to protect myself.”

Chan also notes that he might be interested in doing a a live-action TV series for American television, though he isn’t interested in playing a cop. Chan was originally offered the lead role in CBS’ late Martial Law TV series.

For reference, according to Ain’t It Cool News, in Jackie Chan’s latest completed film, the Accidental Spy, Chan:

Destroyed an entire floor of a building in Hong Kong

Leveled a Turkish fishing village to save one girl

Smashed more than forty vehicles, including an oil tanker

Had a head-on collision with a propeller plane while riding a BMW motorbike

Jumped off a fifty-meter-high bridge, hit one side of a valley and rolled to the bottom of the valley

Ain’t It Cool News has also reported that the Hong Kong Emperor Group has plans to produce a new Jackie Chan film. In Snake Head (temporary title), Chan will play a good cop investigating human slavery and smuggling in the 1920s. The film, with a (Hong Kong) record breaking budget of $40 million US, will be shot entirely in English and will film in locations including Australia and the US.
