John Asks: What Is This?

A non-credit opening animation sequence for something titled “Fushigi Tsushin Toile no Hanako-san” (Mysterious Communication Hanako of the Toilet) turned up on Nico Nico Douga last month and YouTube last week. It’s clearly based on the new Fushigi Tsushin Toile no Hanako-san manga series by writer Mogi Hiromu and illustrator Nanjou Akimasa – a new take on the “gakuen nanafushigi” theme also used in titles like High School Mystery: Gakuen Nanafushigi, Haunted Junction, Gakkou no Kaiden, and Ge Ge Ge no Kitaro. But I can’t find any evidence of an existing anime adaptation, nor plans to develop an anime adaptation. This brief anime clip looks like a lot of fun, so if anyone knows more about this short anime sequence, please enlighten me.
