John Woo to Direct TMNT Movie

Variety Magazine has reported that John Woo has agreed to direct a full CG movie adaptation of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles based on the original, mature, dark & violent black & white underground comics by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird. The picture’s estimated production cost will fall between $40 and $60 million. No Hollywood studio is attached to co-finance or distribute the project yet, though. The picture is tentatively scheduled to hit theaters in Christmas 2002.
