Jokyo Monogatari Live-Action Movie Announced

A live-action film adaptation of Mainichi Kaa-san creator Rieko Saibara’s 2004 loosely-autobiographical manga Jokyo Monogatari will open theatrically in August. The movie revolves around a female manga artist on the eve of having a book published who decides to finally end her relationship with her slacker boyfriend. Jokyo Monogatari is the third of Saibara’s three loosely autobiographical manga to get a live-action film adaptation following Onnanoko Monogatari, which got a movie in 2009 and a mobile phone Flash anime adaptation in 2011, and Mainichi Kaa-san, which got a live-action movie in 2011 following an anime TV series in 2009.
