KanoUso to Get a Movie

The April issue of Cheese! magazine that goes on sale in Japan today reveals that a feature film adaptation of Kotomi Aoki’s romance manga Kanojo wa Uso o Ai Shisugiteru (She Loves Lying Too Much) is now in development. The magazine cover does not specify if the film will be animated or live-action, but its announcement of open auditions for the female co-star suggest that the feature will be live-action.

The romance story revolves around Ogasawara Aki, the composer for a popular band, who decides to get away from music by capriciously dating a much younger 16 year-old girl. However, Aki’s new girlfriend is in a rock band with her girlfriends and secretly loves Aki’s music. Meanwhile, she suspects that Aki is only dating her to rebound from a break-up with a girl he still loves. The ongoing manga series premiered in 2009 and has eight compiled volumes so far.
