King of Fighters Movie in the Works

The good news is that a Hong Kong news site is reporting that a movie is in the works based on SNK’s 2-D fighter King of Fighters. The bad news is that it will not be animated, like the great intro to King of Fighters ’99: Dream Match. Instead it will be a live-action movie with lead actors Andy Lau (Iori Yagami), and Takenouchi Yutaka (Kyo Kusanagi). It will be a joint project between Hong Kong and Japanese companies. While it’s not anime, it is potentially interesting.
