According to Anime on DVD, Keith Burgess of Manga Entertainment has denied the report from the Wizard World convention that the Evangelion movies’ American release will use digital overlays, saying, “Manga Entertainment will not be using overlays at all. We are looking at alternatives ways of handling [the Japanese text].” Furthermore, according to Burgess, the American release of the Eva movies has been delayed again. The VHS versions of “Death & Rebirth” and “End of Evangelion” are now scheduled for release in January 2002 with a DVD collection to follow in March.

It also appears that the American DVD release of Giant Robo will now be in April 2002.
