Live Action Evangelion Still in Development
|Halo Legends & Appleseed: Ex Machina producer Joseph Chou has told Anime News Network that development of the proposed American live action Evangelion motion picture is still “very active.” Chou explained that due to the crash of the American anime distribution industry, AD Vision CEO John Ledford was forced to sideline work on the project, which was first announced in 2003. Ledford is still involved in the project, but producer Chou has taken over primary responsibility for proposing the film to Hollywood. Chou said, “Right now we’re with a producer and a studio that really understands beyond the whole mecha impact… They’re really looking beyond that, and really looking at drama, human elements, even to those elements that appeal to otaku.”
I’ll believe it when I see it.

Realy? This and the cowboy bebop live action movie just should not be made. It’s like trying to make an amazing book into a 2 hour movie. The book is always far superior. I just hope this doesn’t destroy the anime industry for good.
