Live Action Manga Adaptations Coming to American DVD

DVD Times reports that Universal Studios Home Video will release director Akihiko Shiota’s 2007 live action supernatural samurai action film Dororo on American DVD on September 23rd. The hit Japanese film is an adaptation of Osamu Tezuka’s classic 1967 manga series. The American DVD will be subtitled and retail at $27.98.

Discotek Media has announced plans to release director Noboru Iguchi’s 2006 live action comedy Sukeban Boy (Oira Sukeban) on American DVD “before the end of the year.” The film is an adaptation of Go Nagai’s manga series first published in 1974.
