Live Action Twin Spica Drama Announced

The Sankei Sports newspaper reports that the NHK television network will premiere a live action television series adaptation of Kou Yaginuma’s dramatic manga series Twin Spica (Futatsu no Spica) on June 11. The ongoing manga about a young girl studying to become an astronaut debuted in 2001 and was adapted into a 20 episode anime television series in 2003. 16 year old actress Nanami Sakuraba will play protagonist Asumi Kamogawa. The series is being developed with the help of JAXA, Japan’s national aerospace agency.
