Manga Artists High On List Of Famous Japanese Taxpayers

According to the Japanese Ministry of Finance’s 1999 list of top taxpayers in the category of entertainment, taking the #1 spot is Yugi-Oh creator Kazuki Takahashi, owing $4 million US in taxes. Dragonball creator Akira Toriyama takes #2, paying $2.8 million US in taxes. Detective Conan creator Gosho Aoyama comes in at #8, paying $1.7 million US. Ranma 1/2 creator Rumiko Takahashi takes #18, paying $741,000 US.
