Manga Entertainment DVD Clarifications

According to Anime News Service, Manga Entertainment has officially clarified that the “Amon Saga” DVD, listed on their recent public schedule, and “Amon: Apocalypse of Devilman” are two different titles. According to Manga Entertainment, there will be no re-release of the original Devilman OAV series in a subtitled form, and they are currently trying to obtain the translation rights to the new Devilman OAV. [For the benefit of fans that don’t remember the film or may never have heard of it, Amon Saga is a highly stylized fantasy/adventure film from 1986 produced by Toei Studios.]

According to Anime on DVD, the Shadow Skill “movie” DVD will be the three episode OAV series. There’s been no word yet if the original pilot OAV will be included or if the episodes included will be in their original three episode format or if they will be spliced together into a single “movie.” The four Street Fighter II V DVDs announced last week will contain the entire 29 episode TV series. One of the four discs will contain 8 TV episodes while the other three DVDs will each have 7 episodes.
