Manga Entertainment Evangelion Rumors Are False

According to unconfirmed rumors, Manga Entertainment was “on the verge of loosing” the translation and distribution rights to the Evangelion movies, and AD Vision was mentioned as interested in picking up the license. According to Anime News Network, which received official comments on the subject from representatives of both Manga Entertainment and AD Vision, Manga is in no danger of loosing their license for the films, and even if such a situation did occur, AD Vision is not interested in paying the unusually high licensing fee for the movies. The American release of the Evangelion films has been delayed by Manga Entertainment’s painstaking effort to re-assemble all of the voice actors from AD Vision’s television series dub, and because of “undisclosed legal issues.”
