Megazone 23 TV Series Now in Production

Japan’s Nikkei Characters Magazine has reported that production on a new Megazone 23 anime has begun. Several months ago Newtype USA Magazine reported plans for a new Megazone 23 television series.

The new animation will be set in the time period of the first two OAVs, suggesting that it may be an extended re-make of the original storyline. Character design will be provided by Haruhiko Mikimoto, who created the character design of Eve Tokimatsuri in all three Megazone 23 OAVs.
