Metropolis Nearing Completion

Post recording for Madhouse Studio’s anime movie Metropolis is said to be nearing completion. Metropolis has so far taken five years and cost $10 million to produce. The all digital anime film is directed by Rin Taro (X, Gunnm, Kamui no Ken). Katsuhiro Otomo adapted the script from the 1949 manga by Osamu Tezuka. The original Tezuka manga is not related to Thea von Harbau’s novel Metropolis or Fritz Lang’s famous movie of the same name. Overall production is scheduled to be completed shortly, and the film is scheduled for world-wide theatrical distribution in June.
