More Anime Licensed for American TV

4Kids Entertainment, the company that originally licensed Pokemon for American television broadcast, has licensed 3 new Japanese series, although none of them all that recent. 4Kids has licensed 2 anime series and 1 live action series. Tama & Friends, a classic anime about Tama the cat and his dog and cat buddies and their wonderful adventures that stress importance of friendship and working together has been a favorite TV series for Japanese educators and pre-schoolers for almost 20 years. Toei’s Kinnikuman: The Ultimate Muscle, may be familiar to some readers that recall the pink M.U.S.C.L.E. pro-wrestler super-hero figures marketed in the US in the late 1980s that were actually imported Japanese Kinnikuman figures.

In addition to anime, 4Kids has licensed the relatively recent sentai series Ultraman Tiga. It’ll be nice to see actual Japanese Ultraman in America again after all these years.
