MW Live Action Film in Production
|The Sponichi Annex newspaper reports that director Hitoshi Iwamoto, director behind popular Japanese TV dramas including Nobuta wo Produce and Queen’s Classroom, is now helming a live action film adaptation of Osamu Tezuka’s 1976 suspense/revenge story manga MW (pronounced “Mu”). Singer/Actor Hiroshi Tamaki will star in the leading role. Filming started on April 20. The film is scheduled for Japanese theatrical release next year. Vertical released the MW manga in a single 583 page hardcover edition last October.
