New American Co-Production Announced

Manga Entertainment co-founder and former CEO Marvin Gleicher has launched his new independent animation film licensing, development and production firm Marvin Media LLC with two projects.

Gleicher will work with director Keiichi Sato (Karas), screenwriter Manabu Ishikawa (Mononoke), and producer Hisashi Oguchi on the development of “Floating Moon,” an “environmentally aware sci-fi” film based on a story by Paul Kanter. Floating Moon is planned for release in early 2010.

Gleicher is also producing a 26 episode animated comedy TV series titled “High Def” for the Island Def Jam Music Group.

Both titles will be solicited for distribution licensing at this month’s MIPCOM trade show.
