New Anime Licenses Announced
|According to an unconfirmed report published by Anime News Service, the fan favorite 15 episode DNA2 anime TV series from 1994, adapted from manga by Masakazu Katsura (Video Girl Ai), has been licensed for release in America. If true, this news is particularly surprising because common belief is that the original master prints of this animation have been lost in Japan, accounting for why the series is not available on DVD in Japan.
Anime on DVD reports that Pioneer will apparently be releasing the Haja Kyosei G-Dangaioh anime TV series in America under the title “Great Dangaioh.” The 13 episode series from early last year, produced by AIC Studios, is a revival of AIC’s 1987 Haja Taisei Dangaioh OAV series, although the 2 series have essentially no relation to each other.
