New Detail on Second Suzumiya Haruhi Anime

Reportedly the latest issue of Japan’s Newtype Magazine implies that the planned second Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi anime television series will not be a narrative sequel to the 2006 television series, but rather an entirely new series that disregards the earlier anime.

Apparently the production staff decided that it was too difficult to continue the story from the first series, so instead they’re just going to start over with a new series instead of a sequel.
