New Gundam Movies Announced

Sunrise has announced that the 50 episode revisionist/alternate universe Turn A Gundam TV series will be adapted into a two part movie (similar in style to Evangelion’s “Death & Rebirth” double-bill) for Japanese theatrical release next year. Written and directed by Gundam creator Yoshiyuki Tomino, featuring mecha designs by Syd (Blade Runner) Mead, Turn A Gundam, the most recent Gundam animation from 1999-2000, was a dramatic take on the Gundam mythology that focused heavily on character development and a class politics in a European setting rather than mecha battles.

A new 23 minute long full CG side-story to Mobile Suit Z Gundam titled Gundam Neo Experience 0087: Green Divers is scheduled to open at the E-Field theater in Shibuya on the 10th.
