New Iron Man: Rise of Technovore Trailer
|Marvel has released a new trailer for Madhouse’s upcoming feature-length OVA Iron Man: Rise of Technovore. Hiroshi Hamasaki (Shigurui, Steins;Gate) is directing the film from a script by Iron Man: Armored Adventures screenwriter Brandon Auman. The OVA will hit domestic home video on April 16.
I’m glad if you think this looks promising, but all I see is ugly character design, weak action, and poor frame-rate animation.

Glad you had a few precious moments to put down something that a lot of people have (probably) put a fair amount of time into creating. I am so sick and tired of fan boys dissing everything that comes out. The clips in this trailer are so quick, how can you make a fair judgement as to what the finished product will be like? Granted… it may end up with ugly character design, weak action, and poor frame rate animation (the one thing I will argue with you for now, since, again, the clips are so quick and short). What I saw was the possibility of something that has at least garnered my interest and yes… made me think that this could be cool to watch… WOW… guess I’m a fool for actually being willing to give something a chance before even seeing the final product. I thank god there are people out their willing to put time and effort into creating a finished product that I can at least have the hope of enjoying. If things were left to knee jerk fan boys nothing would ever get released and the world would be a darker place for it. Your TV screen will apparently be dark, because it appears you will not even give this movie a chance. I’m more than happy to say, my TV will be brightly lighted in the hopes that this movie will be entertaining and, hopefully, thought provoking… which at least your knee jerk reaction to the preview was able to attain.
Obiri,
Obviously you’re not aware of my viewing habits. Anyone who’s read my column for a long time and reads my “Viewing Journal” on the AnimeNation Forum knows that I watch literally every anime, good & bad. I give every single new anime a chance to convince & impress me. Anyone that doesn’t form any sort of advance opinion on a trailer has no rationality. The entire purpose of a trailer is to encourage viewers to create a reaction to the film being promoted.
If you honestly think that I disrespect the effort and art that creative artists create, you haven’t read my writing. But if you honestly believe that every work of art ever created is brilliant, you’re the one that’s mistaken.
It looks just fine to me, John. I agree that there are times where the animation looks slow for seemingly no reason, but it’s a trailer. Everything else, though, looks alright.
