New Licenses Announced

According to Animefringe, Viz Comics is preparing to announce their plans to translate and publish the Big O manga in America, beginning in February.

Also according to Animefringe, Tokyopop has confirmed their possession of the English language translation rights to the GTO anime and are rumored to be preparing an official announcement of a license for the Chobits and GTO manga series.

Chobits is the most recent manga story from CLAMP. It is a risque romantic comedy about a young Japanese boy who comes into possession of a personal computer shaped like a young cute girl.

GTO (Great Teacher Onizuka) has spawned a long running manga series (currently up to 21 collected volumes), a 43 episode anime TV series, and a live action TV series. GTO tells the story of a former juvenile delinquent who becomes a Japanese high school teacher that employs some unorthodox teaching techniques.
