New Licensing Announcements from AD Vision

After announcing at Anime Expo that they had acquired the domestic distribution license to the popular anime TV series Noir, AD Vision has announced the on their website, “Any previous reference to a program known as ‘Noir’ is retracted and absolutely no inference should be drawn from any earlier inclusion. We apologize for any confusion caused by this inadvertent listing.”

The AD Vision site does also reveal that ADV has the American translation rights to Let’s Dance With Pappa (Papa to Odorou), a program titled “Wonderful,” and the line of full CG image videos starring “virtual idol” Yuki Terai.

The only “Wonderful” we’re familiar with is the long-running live-action variety program which also broadcasts short anime. Series including Ippatsu Kikimusume, Colorful, Momoiro Sisters, You’re Under Arrest Special, Yuki Terai, Yume de Aetara, DiGi Charat and Petshop of Horrors all aired as part of the Wonderful variety hour program. We assume that this reference on the AD Vision site implies that AD Vision has licensed some or all of the short anime series broadcast as part of “Wonderful.”

The AD Vision site also suggests that Gensomaden Saiyuki will be re-named for the American market, “Paradise Raiders.”
