Anime Next reports that Central Park Media also revealed at the New York Anime Film Festival this past weekend that they have now licensed the 3 episode Angel Sanctuary OAV series, based on the best selling manga by Kaori Yuki. Angel Sanctuary details a violent struggle between demons and rival factions of angels in modern day Tokyo.
It was announced at this weekend’s Anime Weekend Atlanta convention that, Viz and Anime Village will partner to bring the recent anime film Jin-Roh to US theaters some time next year. The production IG film, directed by Hiroyuki Okiura, based on a script by Mamoru Oshii, who created the Panzer Cops story concept in both manga and two live action films, has received rave reviews at international film festivals. The production staff of Jin-Roh was comprised largely of the same staff that worked on Ghost in the Shell and Patlabor 2, so expect a great deal of realism, drama, urban violence and intriguing philosophical ideas in Jin-Roh.
AD Vision has licensed the bizarre Oh! Super Milk-chan and the wonderful 24 episode Anime Complex series Steel Angel Kurumi.
