New Viz Details from Katsucon

According to first hand reports from last weekend’s Katsucon convention, Viz Communications now owns the English translation rights to the current Gunnm: Last Order manga serial (the sequel/continuation/revision to “Battle Angel Alita” that began monthly release in Japan last year.) Viz also owns the translation and distribution rights to the popular Corrector Yui shoujo/cyber-magical girl TV series. The American premier of the series will follow the conclusion of Card Captor Sakura in America to avoid possible confusion between the two due to their similar sounding names.

The children’s anime TV series Tottoko Hamutaro, a cute story about the daily lives of hamsters, will be broadcast on the Cartoon Network at some point in the future.
