New York Comic Con to Organize American Anime Awards

The New York Comic Con has announced its plans to organize and host the first annual American Anime Awards, in association with ICv2. Nominations in 12 categories will be submitted by major American anime/manga companies and “independant” organizations including Anime Insider Magazine, Anime News Network, and Anime on DVD. Finalists and winners will be determined entirely by fan voting. An award presentation ceremony will be held on Fabruary 24, 2007, during the New York Comic Con. Live, streaming coverage of the award presentation will also be hosted by IGN.com.
