Newly Confirmed Guests for AX

Anime Expo has confirmed two more guests for the June 30th to July 3rd, 2000 convention in Anaheim, California. Junichi Hayama, the character designer for Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure and Fist of the North Star will be appearing as a guest of APPP/Super Techno Arts, the company which will be releasing Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure domestically. Hayama has recently been working on design for the new Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure OVA series [the first OAV of which is due for Japanese release later this month]. The other newly confirmed quest is Range Murata, a popular illustrator best known domestically for his work as character designer for Blue Submarine No. 6.

In other convention news, Anime on DVD recently learned from a conversation with Jonathan Klein, VP of New Generation Pictures, that Pioneer will be handing out compilations of trailers from their products, and companies they distribute for (Bandai and Viz) at this summer’s large conventions, such as Anime Expo. This year there will be a DVD compilation in addition to the traditional VHS one. New Generation Pictures produced eight trailers, including one for 3×3 Eyes and a four minute short of Amazing Nurse Nanako called Nanako Episode 0.
