NISA Acquires Fusé Movie

NISA has announced plans for a domestic Blu-ray release of the 2012 fantasy adventure film “Fusé: Memoirs of a Huntress” (Fusé ~Teppou Musume no Torimonochou). TMS Animation produced the adaptation of Kazuki Sakuraba’s novel Fusé Gansaku: Satomi Hakkenden, which was loosely inspired by the classic Japanese novel Nanso Satomi Hakkenden. The film will be released on limited edition subtitled Blu-ray on May 6, retailing at $49.99.

Like Mai Mai Miracle, this is another recent anime film that I wish was better than it actually is. The film’s trailers don’t reveal the grotesque and gory aspects of the movie, its schizophrenic tone, its weak co-core relationship development, nor it’s totally out-of-nowhere bizarr-o climax.
