No PS2 FF XI in America?

According to GamePro, Squaresoft president Yoichi Wada has stated that the upcoming PC version of Final Fantasy XI will be released in America. However, the original Playstation 2 version of the online game, which has been available in Japan since last March, has not been confirmed for US release, making the chances of it being released in America seemingly increasingly slim.
