Nozomi Entertainment Announcements From Anime Expo

At this past weekend’s Anime Expo convention, Nozomi Entertainment announced its acquisition of distribution rights to the 26 episode Galen Alice television series that was originally broadcast in Japan in 2004. The series will debut in America next spring as a value priced complete series collection.

Nozomi also announced plans for a DVD release of its long-out-of-print English language translation of the 1980 Toward the Terra (Terra E…) motion picture. Nozomi also announced plans to re-release a remastered version of the Irresponsible Captain Tylor TV and OAV series. A trade-in program will be established for owners of the previous Captain Tylor Ultra Edition boxed sets to upgrade to the new, improved releases.

Gakuen Alice is quite an unexpected – but certainly not unwelcome – acquisition considering the domestic failure of the stylistically similar Kodocha TV series.
