One Peace Books Announces New Manga
|One Peace Books has announced its acquisition of the late Yoshito Usui’s Crayon Shin-chan manga series. The popular 1990 manga was initially published in English by Comics One, then by CMX Manga. One Peace will release the first three omnibus volumes at $12.95 each on October 15.
One Peace Books has also confirmed publication plans for installments of the “Manga de Dokuha” series under the domestic line “Manga Classic Readers.” Manga adaptations of Miguel de Cervantes’ Don Quixote, F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby, Herman Melville’s Moby Dick, James Joyce’s Ulysses, and H.G. Wells’ The War of the Worlds will retail at $9.95 per volume beginning September 1.
One Peace Books has previously published four manga titles since its launch in 2009: Shiho Torii’s essay manga So I Need to Loose 15 Pounds, Yumiko Shirai’s Tenken, Doton Yamaaki’s Breathe Deeply, and Masahiko Kanehisa’s The Bible: A Japanese Manga Rendition.

Hope their Gatsby manga does better than the upcoming movie. And hope their volume 10 of Shinchan isn’t edited like the CMX release.
